Comprehensive Psychological Services, LLC, performs evaluations for various law enforcement agencies across the state of South Carolina. Referring law enforcement offices include state agencies, counties, and local jurisdictions. Dr. Harari utilizes the guidelines from the International Association of Police Chief’s (IACP) when conducting both Preemployment Psychological Evaluations (PPE) and Fitness-for-Duty Evaluations (FFDE).
A PPE is conducted to determine whether an applicant applying for a law enforcement position meets the minimum requirements for psychological suitability. The assessment focuses on whether the applicant has an impairing condition that would adversely impact the ability to withstand the psychological demands inherent in law enforcement positions. In these evaluations, the applicant participates in an interview and completes a testing battery. A report is produced based on the accumulated information. At the conclusion of the report, a determination is made pertaining to the applicant’s suitability.
A FFDE is conducted to when there are psychological concerns pertaining to an existing employee, and a determination needs to be made whether the employee can safely and effectively perform the job functions. In these applications, the employee participates in an interview and completes a testing battery. Typically, collateral information from multiple sources is also utilized to facilitate the data collection process. A psychological report is produced based on the accumulated information. At the conclusion of the report, a determination is made pertaining to the employee’s present fitness with treatment recommendations if applicable.
